What is meditation?
Meditation is a state of thoughtless awareness. It is a deep and profound state when the mind is calm and silent, while being completely aware. You may imagine the mind being like a calm lake. In meditation, the ripples created by out thoughts are slowly quietened down, and we reach a state of complete peace. Only in this state can the inner transformation occur, and bring us to realize out true potential.
There are many evidences from scientific research, showing that meditation is effective in reducing stress. Dr. Ramesh Manocha (Sydney, Australia) explains the positive effect of Sahaja Yoga meditation on the human brain activity.
Sahaja yoga meditation has also been shown to be effective in curing other diseases such as asthma, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD), anxiety and epilepsy.
How to meditate?Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi founded Sahaja yoga meditation in May 1970. She gives and explanation in the following video, how to raise the kundalini, and attain a state of meditation.
